I knew when I decided to study journalism, that I loved storytelling. Only now my medium is my camera, and I get to tell the story through photos. I love documenting and preserving, and passing on for others to see the story, the beauty, the magical moments, the love. I experience the same sense of deep gladness in my soul that Tracey talks about when I am "in these moments." I get uplifted, inspired, and energized, and a big smile spreads across my face. And sometimes I squeal with glee when I look at the back of my camera, but I try to remember to restrain myself so that I don't interrupt the flow of the moment. Then I know that what I am experiencing is "a joyful contentedness of heart which is the direct result of operating in the perfect space of my gifts," as Tracey so beautifully put it.
Here is one of the recent sessions that I wanted to share, where I got to experience many moments of deep gladness. It was a chilly and windy day -- right before a windstorm. I was worried about the cold wind freezing my subjects into little icicles... Thankfully, they were running around and snuggling up together to keep warm, and I got to witness and capture many beautiful moments of this family's love for each other. Thank you so much, R family, for letting me tell your story!

K, I loved coming over to your blog and seeing all of your wonderful photos. I love that you have a journalistic background. In my other life, I am a photo journalist. :)
I can see that gift you have in the way you "see" things. Your photos have energy and motion to them and real connection. I long for that in my own photos.
Many blessings to you!
